VSCA on Friday officially announced the 2022 SportsCar Championship. The inaugural season of the league's premier series will launch in January.

The season will feature four endurance races, the season opener 24 Hours of Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring, 6 Hours at Watkins Glen and Petit Le Mans, the ten-hour season-finale at Road Atlanta.

Additionally, the series will also feature four sprint races of two hours and 40 minutes at Laguna Seca, Mid-Ohio, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and Road America.

The series is designed to emulate the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship.

"We're excited to officially launch the series today. We're hoping that Drivers and Teams will sign up in the coming months, as we're trying to establish this as one of the premier amateur to semi-pro level sports car racing leagues on the circuit.", said VSCA President Benjamin Fischer on Monday.
