The 2022 season officially kicks off with the 24 Hours of Daytona in three weeks' time on January 22-23rd at Daytona International Speedway. A full grid of 55 cars will battle for the win in the biggest VSCA race of the year and the first points race organized by VSCA ever.
VSCA organizers, teams and also drivers have been preparing for the season opener in December already, including extensive testing at Daytona's road course, to try to be as ready as possible for the 24-hour endurance classic.
"We couldn't be more excited about the new season and our first ever 24 Hours of Daytona organized by VSCA.", a VSCA spokesperson said.
"If it will be as good as we hope it to be, we should be in for an amazing event. A lot of work has gone into it and a lot more work will need to get done until race day. But we're feeling great. The excitement level is high with everybody on the staff and we know the teams and drivers are excited, too."
But before engines roar at the 2.5-mile "World Center of Racing" in Daytona Beach, teams and drivers will get to enjoy one more weekend off to celebrate the new year. VSCA wishes everybody a safe holiday and a Happy New Year 2022!
VSCA on midnight also launched a brand-new hype trailer for the 2022 VSCA 24 Hours of Daytona:
