Three classes, LMDh, LMP2 and GTD will once again share the track in Saturday's Sports Car Challenge at VIR.
The ninth race of the 2023 VSCA SportsCar Championship will be the series' first-ever visit to the track.
The LMDh class continues to see a decreasing number of entries with Race4Cat Motorsport the most recent team to withdraw its No. 10 BMW entry from the top class for the remainder of the season.
Likewise, Olympus eSports has withdrawn all three of its entries, the No. 21 LMDh, No. 121 LMP2 and No. 221 GTD class entry.
The team's withdrawal from the series comes after driver Grant Yingling was involved in an incident of intentional wrecking at Road America, which the No. 221 Lamborghini entry was disqualified for.
EastSide Motorsport also have withdrawn their No. 127 Mercedes AMG GT3 entry from the series, for the remainder of the season.
The team last competed at Detroit Belle Isle and finished tenth - equalizing its best result from Daytona in January.
Returning to the grid meanwhile is the No. 193 Dallara P217 of MAD Sim Racing, after missing Road America three weeks ago.
The expectation is there will be 9 LMDh class, 14 LMP2 class and 23 GTD class cars hitting the track at Virginia International Raceway this Saturday, making for a 46-car grid in total for the two-hour and 40-minute race.
