Sheamus Power and Jonathan Oshalim took charge in Saturday’s Sports Car Challenge at VIR to give JO Motorsports and their No. 99 BMW its second win of the season, crossing the finish line and taking the checkered flag by a dominant margin of over 20 seconds over runners-up, the No. 3 BMW of Mayer Simspeed Performance, who earned their best result since Long Beach in April.
Completing the podium finishers, championship leaders No. 7 BMW of Grizzly Motorsports took third place, with Joshua Wolf and Treavor Vavrosky behind the wheel. The team continues to hold a now slightly smaller points lead at 47 points - with just two races remaining in the season.
Sapphire SimSport and the No. 39 BMW with Thomas Fischer and Martyn Pearson took fourth place, leading 13 laps en route to crossing the finish line 39 seconds behind the overall race winners.
Rounding out the top.-five was the No. 88 BMW of DS Racing eSports Team with the Portuguese drivers duo of Francisco Pereira and Nelson Celemente.
Champion Motorsports suffered a setback in their championship hopes as their No. 79 BMW finished one lap down and in sixth place, with Michael Parker and Cameron Barker teaming up at VIR.
