With the arrival of the Ferrari 296 GT3 to iRacing, Nerd Herd Racing as the lone Ferrari team on the 2023 VSCA SportsCar Championship grid, will switch to the new car model of the Italian sports car manufacturer at Indianapolis on September 23rd.
Powered by a V6 engine just like its road-going counterpart, the 296 GT3 is capable of producing 600 horsepower from its 2.9-liter powerplant. At the same time, the car features a new, exciting shape and design that is sure to catch the eyes and attention of fans and competitors alike.
“We at Nerd Herd Racing are beyond excited to finally get our paws on the brand new Ferrari 296 GT3!”, said Nerd Herd Racing’s Ryan Steinhoff.
“Although we have only had a few test sessions with the new car so far, within those sessions our drivers have come to the conclusion that the 296 drives as amazing as it looks! Honestly, the 296 has an impeccable turn-in response over the 488. The handling on the 296 makes our drivers feel like the blade of a samurai sword slicing back and forth through the air! Hopefully the field likes the new tail lights, because they're about to see them more often!”
Fans and competitors will get a chance to see the new Ferrari 296 GT3 on track on September 23rd in the vSPORTS Sports Car Challenge at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Round 10 of the VSCA SportsCar Championship.
