With the final stretch of the VSCA offseason and the holidays approaching rapidly, VSCA is organizing the VSCA Daytona Classic 2.4 Hour at Daytona International Speedway.

The first of its kind in VSCA history, this event will take place on Sunday, December 15th and will be free for all VSCA members (including VSCA Discord members) with no need of any prior registration.

Teams and drivers will have a wide range of some of the best classic sports cars on iRacing to choose from for the event, including GTE, Daytona Prototypes and GT1 cars.

"We have heard the voices in the VSCA community these past couple of years, that it'd be nice to have a classic sports car race in the offseason, to celebrate the legacy of sim racing and sports car racing in particular. We listened, and we are excited to be able to put this event together this year.", said VSCA co-founder and president Benjamin Fischer.

While the event is a team racing session, drivers will be allowed to run the race solo. Setups will be open and there will be no full-course yellows in the event.

"We just want folks to enjoy themselves, have some fun during the holiday season and enjoy some of the classic sports cars that many of us probably haven't driven in quite a while, in any type of competitive race.", added Fischer.

So what exactly will be needed to participate in the event?

"It's pretty simple. Just make sure you join the VSCA Discord Server, go to the #daytona24classic channel, check the pinned message for all the details and then join the session on December 15th, when the track opens around 1500 GMT. That's pretty much it. And don't forget to have fun!", Fischer explained.

There are also no rating or license requirements for the event, nor are there any requirements to submit an officially approved car design. The session will be available via iRacing "Hosted Session" and the race will go a distance of 2 hours and 25 minutes total.

There will be no broadcast of the event.
