The 2025 VSCA SportsCar Championship heads into its penultimate round this Saturday, September 27, with the JRT Road America 160. The race marks Round 10 of 11 in the SportsCar Championship and the decisive sixth and final round of the Sprint Cup. Taking place on the 4-mile Road America full course in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, the two-hour and 40-minute race promises to be a turning point for both season-long and sprint honors.

Tradition Meets High Stakes

For the fourth consecutive year since 2022, Road America remains a cornerstone of the VSCA calendar, joining Daytona, Sebring, and Road Atlanta as permanent fixtures. "It always feels nice to come back here, to 'cheese head country'," said VSCA Co-Founder & CEO Benjamin Fischer.

"Obviously we're also excited to see the conclusion of the 2025 VSCA Sprint Cup here with very competitive and tight points battles in all four classes. We're hoping for good, hard and fair racing on Saturday and that the fans will enjoy the show."

Last year’s event was defined by torrential rain, producing one of the most chaotic races in series history. This year, the forecast shows only a 1% chance of rain, but veterans of Wisconsin know better than to trust the skies over Elkhart Lake.

New Arrivals and Comebacks

The entry list sees some changes. Tri-State Racing makes its GTP debut with the #25 BMW M Hybrid V8, the first BMW prototype on the VSCA grid since October 2023. Fischer Motorsport also returns after missing Indianapolis with its #4 Porsche 963 GTP. In GT machinery, Delta Racing brings the updated BMW M4 GT3 EVO, hoping for a late-season boost.

In the GT AM category, Pandemonium eSports x Sim-Lab continues with its McLaren but changes its number from #532 to #533 for the remaining races. Meanwhile, uncertainty still surrounds whether the #677 Valkyrie Exype LMP2 will return after its absence at Indy.

Sprint Cup Deciders

With the Sprint Cup titles to be decided, Road America takes on extra weight. The battles are razor-close. In the top class GTP, the Sprint Cup sees the #51 World Of SimRacing Team Cadillac in the lead by a strong 205 points over the #32 Wastegate Racing Cadillac. In LMP2, the #23 Twin Turn Simracing Dallara leads the #96 Albrecht Motorsports Dallara by just 38 points, with the #11 Vision 1 Motorsports Dallara P217 still in the mix. GT PRO class has the #71 Sim City Racing Porsche narrowly ahead of the #44 ACRP Fischer Motorsport Porsche and the #84 Fischer Porsche GT Team Porsche while in GT AM the #64 Vulture Motorsports Ford in control but only by 106 points over the #33 Wastegate Racing Chevrolet.

Eyes on the Big Prize

The overall SportsCar Championship battles remain just as tense. In GTP, the #51 World Of SimRacing Team Cadillac leads, but the #32 Wastegate Racing Cadillac and the #46 Rising Panda Racing Acura are waiting to pounce. LMP2 remains close with the #23 Twin Turn Simracing Dallara holding a fragile lead over the #11 Vision 1 Motorsports Dallara. GT PRO appears to be the #61 Sim City Racing Porsche’s to lose, but GT AM is shaping up as a nail-biter, with the #83 Off in the Esses Racing McLaren barely ahead of the #64 Vulture Motorsports Ford.

A Track Built for Drama

At 4 miles, Road America is the longest track on the VSCA calendar, with long straights that demand both engine power and strategic fuel management. The length and variety of corners have historically produced unpredictable outcomes, and with championships hanging in the balance, this year should be no exception.

The green flag for the JRT Road America 160 waves at 16:06 GMT on Saturday, with live timing and scoring provided by race sponsor Joel-Real-Timing.com (JRT). JRT’s founder, Joel Guez, continues to support VSCA, offering a platform that has become indispensable for both teams and fans.
