The VSCA SportsCar Championship will return to the legendary Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in 2026 for Round 7 of the season — and Round 5 of the VSCA Sprint Cup — with an event unlike any other. The 2-hour and 40-minute race will officially be known as the #NEVERLIFT CRISPY 160, a heartfelt tribute to the late Martin Crisp, a beloved figure within the sim racing community whose impact stretched far beyond the virtual track.
Known affectionately by his peers as “Crispy,” Martin Crisp was a cornerstone of the sim racing scene for more than 15 years. His passion for racing, his kindness toward others, and his unshakable “never lift” spirit left a lasting mark on everyone who crossed his path. In recognition of that legacy, VSCA and the Crisp family have partnered to dedicate the 2026 CTMP round in his honor — a fitting tribute at the very venue he often called his home track, both virtually and in real life.
“This race is dedicated to the entire sim racing world,” said Glenda Crisp, spouse and best friend of Martin Crisp for 30 years. “Martin Crisp was a pillar in the sim community for over 15 years. Martin’s ‘never lift’ attitude towards life, family and friends was unparalleled. He ran many virtual and real races at his home-track of CTMP, always in our hearts.”
The #NEVERLIFT CRISPY 160 will see GTP, LMP2, and GT AM class cars compete wheel-to-wheel at Mosport — as the track is affectionately known in the community — over a challenging 160-minute sprint. The event marks the fourth time the VSCA SportsCar Championship visits the historic circuit in Bowmanville, Ontario, following previous editions in 2022, 2023, and 2025. The most recent winners at CTMP include the #51 World Of SimRacing Team Cadillac (GTP class), #216 Vulture Motorsports Dallara P217 (LMP2 class), and #44 Fischer Motorsport Porsche (GT PRO class).
“For many of us, sim racing isn’t just a hobby — it’s a way of life,” said Benjamin Fischer, CEO & Co-Founder of VSCA. “And even though I did not know him personally, it’s people like Martin Crisp who make sim racing the unique, passionate community that we all love and cherish. We want to send our condolences to Glenda and all of Martin’s extended family, friends, and loved ones and are proud to play a small role in keeping Martin’s legacy and ‘never lift’ attitude alive. I also want to say at this moment that the losses of Tom Hennes and Thomas Baker last year have hit the VSCA and sim racing community very hard. We are thinking of them and their families, friends, and loved ones as well, and we keep them in our hearts.”
The #NEVERLIFT CRISPY 160 will stand as a celebration not only of competition but also of community — a reminder that even in a digital sport, the human connections and shared passion behind the screens are what truly make sim racing special.
