The official entry list for the fifth annual Monster Energy 12 Hours of Sebring was published on Friday. A grid totalling 56 cars will take on the concrete of Sebring International Raceway for one of the biggest events of the season.

Absent from the grid will be once again the #8 Ares Racing Porsche in GTP class. After the team made its series debut at Daytona in January, finishing ninth in The Roar Before The 24 and 13th in the Maconi Setup Shop 24 Hours of Daytona, the Porsche 963 GTP was absent from the grid at Long Beach earlier this month, even though the team had officially entered the entry for the event.

Likewise, the team's second entry, the #9 Lamborghini Hurácan GT3 EVO will be absent from the GT AM grid at Sebring, after the team did not enter the entry for the 12-hour event, leaving the team's future in the series very much in doubt.

This also means that there won't be a full GTP and GT AM class grid at Sebring, because there are currently no entries on the GTP Reserve List and because in GT AM, the grid spot being reserved for a Lamborghini entry, because the #9 was the only Lamborghini in the GT3 category and VSCA has car manufacturer diversity rules in place, that guarantee each manufacturer a minimum of one grid spot per category.

"We do hope to see Lamborghini represented on the grid again soon, but obviously we don't know what the future holds. We are confident that we have a fantastic and competitive grid in all classes, as is. But of course we're also always excited about the possibility of new teams taking the chance to enter the series.", said series director Benjamin Fischer.

The Monster Energy 12 Hours of Sebring is set to go green Saturday at 1400 GMT and will be broadcast live, from start to finish, on GreenFlag TV.
